RD-100 Rimless Designer

The new RD-100 Rimless Designer is a drill hole detection, communication, and coordinate storage facilitating device. This compact product includes a built-in camera that will detect and communicate the highlighted shape outline of a demo lens or pattern for 3-piece mountings. The data capture includes tracing data without the use of a tracer. It allows the user to easily identify hole position and then accurately define coordinates for immediate transfer to any VCA compliant lab management software (e.g. at job entry). The 10.4 inch LCD touch screen allows for enlarged view of each hole for pinpoint accuracy placement.  Additionally it gives the operator the ability to view the angle of the hole position which is critical to proper drilling of 3 piece mount lenses, regardless of the base curve of the lens that coordinates were retrieved from or intended for.

The RD-1000 integrates directly with Nidek ME-1000 stand alone edger or AES-1500 robotic system, both of which have 3-D Drilling capability. It will give the user the ability to seamlessly identify notch and slot positions as easily as rimless hole positions. Design intention of RD-100 is for the wholesale lab that is either building a new drill coordinate database or is consistently maintaining and adding to an existing database.
